Morgenroth said: “As we move out of a market downturn, the next few years will see further challenges and opportunities for the non-listed sector. My role along with the Management Board is to ensure that INREV continues to play a central role in moving the industry forward at this time. I would like to thank Johan and the rest of the outgoing board members for their contribution to the industry. They have overseen key developments such as the development of the INREV Index and the INREV Guidelines leading to increased transparency and professionalism in this industry.” Morgenroth was first appointed to the INREV Management Board in April 2009.

Van der Ende said: “It has been a privilege to work with the Board, the INREV team and the members over the last three years. The organization has come of age during this period. It has produced essential tools, data, research and guidance for all participants in the non-listed real estate sector. In Michael, I think we have found an excellent and committed Chairman who will ensure that INREV remains fully focused on the needs of its members.”

Further changes in the Management Board also see the remaining members of the original board rotating off. This includes INREV founder Pieter Hendrikse, CEO of ING Real Estate Investment Management Europe. Other original board members rotating off include: Georg Allendorf, Managing Director of RREEF; Bernhard Berg Chief Executive Officer of Generali Deutschland Immobilien GmbH and Michael Nielsen, Managing Director/Partner of ATP Real Estate.

Incoming board members highlight INREV’s focus on the future of the industry. This includes the appointment of two young professional board members to represent the views of this section of the INREV membership. This will give the organization a fresh mixture of up-and-coming industry leaders as well as experienced professionals to support INREV aims.

New appointments to the board are:
Jens Christian Britze, Partner, ATP Real Estate - Jens holds the position of internal legal counsel for the indirect real estate investment affiliate of the Danish pension fund ATP. He is a member of the Due Diligence Working Group and Alignment of Interest Working Group. Jens was nominated by the Investor Platform.

Patrick Kanters, Managing Director Global Real Estate, APG Asset Management – APG Asset Management specializes in managing pension capital, offering asset management services to the pension funds of the government, education and construction sectors and housing corporations. Patrick was nominated by the Investor Platform. Patrick will take up the role of Treasurer, INREV.

Noel Manns, Principal, Europa Capital Partners – Noel is a member of the Investment Committee for each of the Europa funds and is the Principal responsible for acquisitions in Northern and Southern Europe and European countries outside the EU. He is a founding member of the INREV Fund Manager Forum, which was set up to better represent fund managers’ interests, in order to keep them aligned with INREV’s interests.

INREV has also appointed two young professionals to the Management Board as a sign of its commitment to giving a voice to the individuals who will be leading the industry into the future:

Iris Aalders, Manager Strategy & Organisation, ING Real Estate Investment Management Europe, the Netherlands – Iris is a member of the ING REIM European Board and responsible for furthering professionalism in servicing clients and the strategy and organization of the European platform. She is INREV’s young professional fund manager representative and a member of the Membership Committee.

Tobias Pfeffer, Manager Indirect Investments, Generali Deutschland Immobilien GmbH – Tobias is responsible for a portfolio of European investments in non-listed real estate vehicles of approximately €1 billion. He is also active in the investment, structuring of products, as well as tax and legal affairs. Tobias is INREV’s young professional investor representative. He was nominated by the Investor Platform.

Andrea Carpenter, Interim CEO INREV, said: “The appointment of two young professionals to the board is recognition of the role this section of our membership plays in our work. They support us from the collection of data for research projects to playing an active role in committees and at training courses. Iris and Tobias will help us better represent the industry as a whole and support young professional’s appetite for education, transparency and professionalism.

We are pleased that the Management Board comprises such a diverse and expert group of industry representatives. They are appointed at a time when the industry is poised to grow again and when INREV has far reaching plans to improve industry standards further still.”
